GARISA,(SAHALNEWS)-Kenyan defense Forces on Tuesday said that five Al-shabaab fighters have been killed in a raid in Kenya’s border along Somalia.

KDF spokesman Colonel David Obonyo said that members were on route to escape from a crime scene in Ajira police station.

“The troops caught up with the Al-Shabaab terrorists as they tried to get to the Somali border. Five terrorists were killed while others fled with injuries,” the colonel has said.

The Al-shabaab’s attack on Ijara police state saw the death of several police officers according to intelligence reports released earlier this week.

Al-Shabaab continues to strike Kenya frequently for the past five years.
